Closing date extended for Scholarships to study in Australia in 2015

Solomon Islanders thinking of applying for a scholarship to study in Australia next year now have until 22 April 2014 to lodge their application.

Australian High Commissioner to Solomon Islands, Andrew Byrne has extended the closing date for people to apply for the Australia Award Scholarships, which are available for undergraduate and postgraduate studies in Australia.

“We understand that at this time of natural disaster people may need additional time to complete their applications. But please don’t leave your application to the last few days as there are a number of mandatory requirements that need to be met” Mr Byrne said.

“The scholarships are an important part of our Partnership for Development with Solomon Islands and this investment plays a significant role in making sure Solomon Islands has a highly skilled and trained work force, which in turn helps to promote development in the country,” Mr Byrne said.

Information about the Australia Awards, eligible institutions and courses, selection criteria, process and scholarship conditions is available from the DFAT website www.dfat.gov.au or contact the Australian Aid Scholarships section at the Australian High Commission in Honiara on telephone: 20011 ext:210, 211 or email: [email protected]
