Breaking New Ground
Solomon Islands Minister of Finance, Rick Hou and Australian High Commissioner, Matt Anderson ‘turn the sod’ for the new Ministry of Finance building in Honiara.
Australia has provided SBD$56 million (A$8 million) for the new building. Our support began under RAMSI and continues with AusAID through the Partnership for Development. The new building symbolises Australia’s ongoing commitment in the future of Solomon Islands - projects previously funded under RAMSI are still being supported through the bilateral Partnership for Development.
As a partner and friend of Solomon Islands, Australia continues to support the Solomon Islands Government’s priorities in their National Development Strategy, and to make a difference to improve the lives of all Solomon Islanders.
