Get fit and say G’day to Solomon Islands

FREE REGISTRATIONS NOW OPEN!

Come to the Australian High Commission, corner of Hibiscus Avenue and Mud Alley, Honiara to register individuals or get together with your workmates, family, friends or a sports group to register your team for the race.

The first 1,000 entries receive a FREE ‘G’Day Solomon Islands Fun Run’ t-shirt.

The inaugural ‘G’day Solomon Islands Fun Run’ will be held on Saturday 23 November starting at the Honiara Art Gallery grounds.
‘G’day’ is a friendly term used in Australia meaning ‘Hello’.

Deputy High Commissioner Dr Dave Peebles says he can’t wait for the event:

“This is a great opportunity for the community to get together for a great morning out, have fun and get some exercise.”

“And the free t-shirts that come with the first 1,000 registrations look fantastic!”

The theme of the event is ‘Iumi Stap Helti’, promoting the importance of a healthy lifestyle with fresh food and physical activity.

The event offers free registration, great prizes, a 3km walk and 5km run as well as entertainment and a free healthy breakfast provided by the Solomon Islands Women in Business Association (SIWIBA) at the end of the event.

Runners will be warmed up by Justina and the Mermaid Aerobics girls, an exercise team that has kept people in Honiara fit for more than 23 years!
More information on the event including grand prizes and the Fun Run route will be released in coming weeks.
