Australia Works with NGOs to Hand Out Supplies to Rural Communities

Australia is working with NGOs to distribute more supplies to those affected by floods in rural Guadalcanal.

On Tuesday 22 April Australian High Commission staff travelled with World Vision to Papangu village, an hour’s drive east of Honiara, to hand out clean water and family kits to 64 affected families.

The family kits provide essential supplies like soap, torches, buckets, mosquito nets, sleeping mats and towels.

Four families in Papangu who lost their homes also received a shelter kit with tools, materials and nails to help them rebuild.
